A Good Attorney Is Very Important after a Car Accident

Four Ways Your Smartphone Can Help You Avoid A DUI

Being pulled over and receiving a DUI can be devastating since it's such a high offense. You can possibly face getting your license suspended, high fees, and even jail time. Planning on going out that involves drinking? Consider these four ways your smartphone can help you avoid a DUI charge:

  1. Drink Tracker App: Download a drink tracker app that can help you keep track of what you are consuming. It seems like a lot of work to keep adding your new drink into the app every time you order a new one, however, many of these apps are quite simple. Instead of having to take your time to write out each drink, you can add some favorite drinks to the data and tap to add each time you order one. From here, the app will track your drinks, as well as your blood alcohol level based on your height and weight and consumption.
  2. Breathalyzer App: While you will need a small device that connects to your phone that you breathe into, you can definitely use a breathalyzer app to help you test your blood alcohol level before you decide to drive. The trick is, though that you have to wait at least a half hour or so after drinking to test yourself since the alcohol takes a while to get into your blood stream. Once you test, do not have another drink before you get behind the wheel because once that kicks into your blood stream, your level is going to change.
  3. Uber or Lyft: Simply put, do not get behind the wheel if you know that you have been drinking too much. If the breathalyzer reads your blood alcohol level too high, your drink tracker says your blood alcohol level is too high, or you just simply know that you have been drinking a lot, then use the Uber or Lyft app to get a ride. It's not worth it to not only face a possible DUI, but to also put other people's lives in danger.
  4. Apps to Stay Sober: Finally, if you are thinking about getting sober, there are a few helpful apps that can help you with the process. These apps allow you to track your number of days sober and provide motivational information and tips to help you continue on the journey strong. This is great for anyone struggling with alcoholism, which is a definite sign if you have received a DUI, especially more than one in the past.

Still caught up in a DUI charge? Be sure to contact a DUI lawyer. Your lawyer will help you lower the charges that you face and help you on the path of getting the DUI off your record and avoiding the same situation in the future.

About Me

A Good Attorney Is Very Important after a Car Accident

My friends joke around and call my car a "magnet" because it has been hit by other drivers on the road so many times. I have been in three auto accidents in just the past several years, and while I am a great driver, I have learned that other people in my city are not. While I consider myself lucky due to the fact that I am still in good health after being in so many accidents, I have learned a lot about them due to my bad luck attracting bad drivers. One thing I have learned a lot about is auto accident law and the importance of hiring an attorney after an accident. I want everyone to be aware of their rights after an accident, so I decided to create a blog to share my research and tips.
